One of the most terrifying movies I’ve ever seen. Granted, I watched it at 3 a.m., but regardless, the imagery of a frail and skeletal Cesare awakening from his 23-year slumber, his eyes slowly opening and widening madly, is something etched into my brain forever. I can’t believe this was made in the 1920s.

Joker: Folie à Deux 2024
I will admit that it’s visually stunning, but sadly it holds little emotional or creative depth. Despite Phoenix and Gaga's strong performances, to me, the story felt predictable and hollow, with forgettable side characters and unremarkable musical numbers (😭). It's hard to see this as anything more than a misfire, saved by the stunning cinematography.
