Honestly my favorite installment out of the trilogy. I would say it does the best at nailing the tone it's been trying to establish since the first one. The film finally balances the seriousness and the humor, resulting in a funny, action packed, yet very emotional send off for the franchise. The first film got Eddie and Venom acquainted, the second had them struggling to find a way to be together, but the third feels like it can be about…
Saw it in theaters just to accompany a friend, not having seen the first, and I was awestruck. It was a phenomenal movie, well performed, well shot, and well scored. It was fairly easy to grasp from the cliff notes my friend gave me and what I had heard about the first film, I didn't feel lost at all. It was some Grade A cinematic storytelling and I would watch it again in a heartbeat.
I think this is the best movie I've ever seen. I saw it in theaters with my mom as I've watched most monster/horror movies with her, and we were both so moved and so impressed with every aspect. The emotion, the story, the performances, the vfx, it's was such an amazing experience I feel privileged to have seen it in theaters. Hard 10/10 recommend to anyone who likes watching movies. This is one of those movies where if it's rereleased in theaters in the future I will find the time to go see it again with anyone who will join me.
As a horror fan, it was a great slasher with a good plot, and it had a fair amount of comedic moments, reminiscent of 80s slasher films. The body count was surprisingly high for what modern movies usual deliver which lent itself to trying out a few creative things I'd not seen before. There was an element of parody and self awareness that really helped distinguish between what was supposed to be funny and what was supposed to be serious, and I feel it rode that line phenomenally. I'd absolutely watch it again or throw it in the yearly holiday movie rotation.
