The movie starts with a high-octane action scene, setting up expectations for a thrilling heist movie. Then it forgets to include any action until the very end. The characters are empty shells with no motivations - thieves rob for the sake of robbing, and cops chase them just because they’re cops. Big Nick is supposed to be a morally grey antihero, but he feels like an NPC awkwardly placed in the story. The film tries so hard to be Heat but never even comes close. By the time it randomly turns into a mystery movie, all hope is already lost.

Listen up, dudes: if someone recommended this show to you or you started watching it with your girlfriend, just endure the first episode. Trust me, it’s worth it. From there, everything clicks, and I swear this will be one of the greatest media experiences of your life.
If you’re a gamer like me, the closest comparison would be Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima or any game from the Yakuza series. By the end, you’ll have that same feeling, like you just finished one of those epic journeys.

Damn, it’s my first time seeing Conan Lee in a movie - why does he look so much like Jackie Chan in this, and how have I not seen any other movies with him? Shooting a shotgun around a corner using a rope is both stupid and brilliantly spectacular. The chainsaw fight? Pure madness. How have I never heard of this movie before?
