Amazingly shot, poignant movie, but exceptionally freaky. The main characters are compelling and believable, the landscape is beautiful, and the story manages to leave you with a powerful message despite the lewd subject matter. A must watch for lovers of film, but discretion definitely advised.

A movie that I remember being a lot better than it actually is. The practical effects are still pretty decent and the designs of the Cenobites themselves are excellent, but they're barely in the movie at all. Doug Bradley's performance easily steals the show and practically carries the whole movie. Still a classic worth watching for horror fans, but probably worth skipping for anyone else.

They don't make movies like this anymore - probably because it did so badly on release. The music is excellently cheesy throughout and the style is a unique and gripping mix of Sin City and Cyberpunk. The plot isn't much to write home about though, and besides the Repo Man, none of the characters are particularly compelling. Regardless, the movie is a fun watch that I would recommend to anyone interested in the music or visuals.

There's nothing quite like this movie. I didn't care much for the series aside from a few standout moments, but the film is captivating from beginning to end. The animation is outstanding, oozing with that iconic hand-drawn charm, and the soundtrack is rightfully lauded to this day. It stands out to me because of how clearly the director's vision shines through - it's like seeing someone's brain on display. A movie I doubt I'll ever forget, and that I think everyone should see at some point.
