A trip through the care free excitement of playing hooky for the day. Fun and effortless. The tourism board for Chicago must have loved when this film came out.
When i finished the movie, I sat there and thought "What the f**k did I just eatch?" But the bizarre nature of the film stuck with me, the visible anxieties Henry experiences from awkward ecounters with his lover's parents to the fear of being the cause of his "child" to become ill. The movie definitely left more of an impact than I realized.
A solid nod to the original movie which brings back the familiar art direction without overdoing the CGI. Michael Keaton's Beetleguese is even more pronounced and on top of his game in the sequel. However, the busy plotlines and hurried resolution prevent this film from being a great reboot.
A fever dream ignited by Tim Burton's idea of life after death. Unexpected turns and creative design make for a satisfying watch.
