    3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Presence’:

    1. I’m still trying to figure out the illegal thing the mom did and how it ties into everything.

    2. This did for spirits what In a Violent Nature did for slasher killers, but INFINITELY better. Cool concept that stays with you for a bit. I think one could even benefit from a second viewing.

    3. I thought it was being totally obvious with its story’s direction… until it wasn’t… then it was, but it kinda wasn’t. All in all, in wasn’t AS predictable as I was fearing it’d be.

    3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Companion’:

    1. Okay, Sophie Thatcher, I see you. Awesome performance. From literal start to finish.

    2. Such a great surprise of a movie! Black Mirror on steroids. With a touch of The Terminator. Nice little twists, incredibly clever, and the perfect amount of humor.

    3. Patrick and Eli forever. So sweet.

    2. Crescendoing music does not a dramatic scene make. The moment needs to match the score.

    3. The creepiest moment was the snake with the human head. Whiiiiiiich was never explained. Just another bit of nonsense piled on top of incessant, endless nonsense. “Convoluted” is an understatement here.

    3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Oppenheimer’:

    1. Much of the film, particularly in the beginning, felt more like a montage than a movie. The scattered-ness of the scenes created a disconnect that made it difficult to absorb what exactly was going on.

    2. Why the black and white? What purpose did that serve? I’ll probably find out at some point, but it’d be nice to know in real time.

    3. I certainly didn’t expect Nolan to give us Oppenheimer for Dummies,…
