  The biggest part of the story of this movie happens after the last scene. It is only implied what is going to happen. As we the viewer find ourselves in the same position as the protagonist who watches these homevideos. We too want to know why everything happened.

  Shunji Iwai is a very difficult director for me. Usually I tend to either know how a story will evolve or be pleasently suprised by a different approach from a director. With his movies however I almost feel irritated by the way his stories progresses. Of course that would make his movies terrible if this wasnt definitely his intention.
