I don’t mind an on-the-nose metaphor, but there’s not really any substance underneath this one. It’s preaching to the choir in a pretty simple, obvious way for 100 minutes straight.
An absolute feat in documentary filmmaking. I don’t know how the filmmakers convinced Teal to let them in, but seeing unprecedented access to a cult leader like this in their inner circle was fucking insane. Perfectly shot and pieced together, I was entranced by every second of this.
