I’m actually kind of shocked how much I like this movie. I’ll admit that it’s a very “me coded” film but even still, I expected this to be just on the right side of cheesy, at best. I couldn’t have been more wrong! From a filmmaking perspective, this movie is actually astounding. The practical stunts, production design, choreography, cinematography, were all perfectly in sync to create the world and tone.
I found the writing and storytelling to be about as…

Ah, fuck. Have I been Wicked pilled? Ariana and Cynthia are like, incredible? Wow. Defying gravity indeed.
And I gotta say, I think the criticisms of the lighting and cinematography are a bit overblown. I think “they” had a vision for the look and feel of movie and I think they accomplished what they set out to do. For that, I commend them. I also think it’s absolutely criminal that, despite being a prequel to one of the most famously colorful films of all time, “they” decided to completely wash out the color palette. Absolutely criminal.

Dude behind me yelled “play it again!” when the credits rolled. Hell yeah, buddy. Play it again, indeed!
I’m not kidding when I say I coulda sat through another three hours of what I just saw. As far as I’m concerned, Denis Villeneuve should get a blank check to make Dune: Messiah and should start immediately.
I can’t believe this thing held up to my astronomical expectations and I feel so happy to be alive to see the Dune-aissance happen in real time.

Meh. Didn’t love it. Didn’t hate it.

The best part about Blade for me has always been that the story matters less than the action. In Trinity, I feel they wanted the story to be as least as important as the action and the movie suffered for it in my opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed the movie but it’s the worst Blade movie by far.
Ryan Reynolds was a fun addition, Jessica Beil does fine, and I think…
