  First time seeing this in a long time. I had forgotten how many phrases from this have made it into just everyday lexicon. “Oh eee oh, I’m melting, Off to see the wizard, And your little dog too, Pay No attention to the man behind the Curtain, No place like home, You and you and you and you were there.” Wild.

  Universal Language 2024

  This is an exploration of what has been done in film, what can be done in film, and a true example of actually just doing it, regardless of how much sense it does or does not make. Why is it set in Winnipeg, but everyone speaks Farsi? Why do they also study and speak French? The answer lies in Rankin’s heritage, but it’s a portrayal of heritage that I’ve never seen (an Iranian Tim Horton’s that serves tea?).

  This was so boring. The shock scenes weren’t shocking. The sex scenes were unnecessary and forced. It was shot so darkly. About 45 minutes too long.
