  the only redeemable part of this whole thing is ayo edebiri and john malkovich’s star power. premise seemed only half-way fleshed out and overall was just kinda boring and plain. i just feel like
  they could’ve gotten a lot more out of the premise. 

  however i loved both scenes where we watched the reactions to marreto’s new music. they killed it on those.
