  I’m so glad I revisited Unforgiven after watching most of Clint Eastwood’s filmography again. This is undoubtedly his magnum opus. As a man who became a symbol of the Western genre and stoic characters in cinema, Unforgiven is a film that is both deeply reflective and a direct antithesis to the very genre and themes he helped establish. In many ways, Unforgiven feels more like a horror film than a traditional Western to me. The final hour is some of the greatest filmmaking I’ve ever seen.

  It’s so rare to watch something that reminds you why you love filmmaking so much. Barry Jenkins is a master at visual storytelling. Great experience at the new IMAX theater in Athens.
