For being such a short form piece of media, this was really powerful and had the produced the desired effect that they were going for initially I think
From having the focus barely on the case itself and instead as to the motive behind it all and the theme of toxic masculinity throughout really helped to serve this purpose
The lack of background music and ambience really made every scene so much more raw and emotional as there was nothing…
Unfortunately I felt this left a bit too much to be desired for it to be rated any higher for me, which was a shame as it was a film I’d been looking forward to for a while
Most of the kills were shown in the trailer which I had seen numerous times already and the whole evil twin brother plot just felt a bit mare
Doesn’t come close to Longlegs for me though, not bad but nothing groundbreaking
The monkey itself was cool though I must admit

Some of the writing in this was ROUGH, the scene where Ally and Monica were discussing going to the airport and Monica kept dropping rom-com names into conversation was a painful watch 💀
1st cinema trip of the year and I’ve got a 100% falling asleep success rate so far
Had to rewatch the 15/20 minutes at the beginning that I missed on the following day
Still didn’t take anything away from the movie itself, Fincher is a genius and this is just yet another example of that fact
