took me 5 days to finish civil war as i slowly progressed watching it in 20-30 minute chunks. being based in dc with family and friends who work in politics/journalism plus our current administration made it feel a little too close to home, but wow, that was good - i will not be rewatching this ever again. i personally loved how they portrayed photographers feeling disconnected to the world around them at times in the constant pursuit of the shot. 4 American monuments out of 5.

Alien Resurrection 1997
okay now THIS was a bad fun movie. clones, droids, xenomorph hybrids? it has it ALL! so many unnecessary scenes (surprise underwater scene?!?) but it was just a blast. ripley’s child was gorgeous and terrifying - what a lil FREAK. 3.5 egg sacks out of 5, would watch again.

was so immersed that i didn’t realize there was a fire alarm irl, just thought it was part of an explosive sci fi getaway sequence. think i liked it slightly more than the original because the queen xenomorph knew how to use an ELEVATOR?!? 3.5 sassy chest busters out of 5.
