  this is great cinema. mohammad rasoulof powerfully and eloquently captures the intricacies of living within an oppressive regime.

  the world-building through sound design is some of the best i’ve seen in a long time. evokes emotion in the audience without relying on (hardly) any music.

  every actor captures the essence of their character, bringing us on a very visual and tangible journey. 

  this movie was filmed in secret in iran without the director being physically present on set as he is living in exile, and still manages to deliver one of the most palpable and memorable cinematic experiences i’ve experienced in the last several years.

Following
