I love the dystopian genre, specifically in media that directly mirrors current society. It makes it fun to point out the parallels between fiction and real life. The film points out a lot of things that seem culty- strange in real life, it really makes you think about how bizarre those things are and the humor really makes it better.
Mickeys character really points out how much trauma can cause split personality disorder and other disorders that can cloud one’s reality. It really shows how organizations prey on the vulnerable.
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous cinematography. The shots throughout the movie were stunning. Moving on, excellent performance by Lily-Rose, she portrayed Ellen beautifully.
I’m not particularly familiar with the classic tale of Nosferatu but I’m loosely familiar with Dracula. The film overall captures the gothic darkness that I remember from depictions of Dracula. Historical accuracy is usually really hard to grasp in contemporary film but “Nosferatu” in my opinion really took me to the Victorian era, I knew exactly where we were before they even said what year it was.
Overall I’m not well versed with gothic horror films but this one was an enjoyable watch.
The overall story was amazing. With it being based on a true story, there’s little to no room for mistakes with this. Tyler Perry doesn’t have the best track record as of recently but this movie was pretty good. Some elements such as the cgi plane shots were questionable but other than that, you can tell that the budget was larger than other films. Pleasantly surprised
