  Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters 1985

  I'm more familiar with Schrader's writing, but damn he was cooking with this one.
  I'm also fairly unfamiliar with Mishima as a person (I know, I'm very uncultured) and found this to be a fascinating portrait, v curious to read up more.
  The book chapters were done in such a creative way, and conveyed the messages in a not entirely subtle, but satisfying way.

  Some real cool costumes in the movie, excellent music and it's just shot oh so beautifully.

  I am a huge fan of American Zoetrope, badly miss a studio that would fund stuff like this.

  Visually one of the best movies I've ever seen,hats off to coppola and crew. This is the type of stuff that makes me love movies.
  But hank is a piece of shit, damn.
  I can't think anyone that would choose him over Raul julia. I mean come on now stop playing around.

  Time to boobs is less than 7 minutes (even less for sand boobs, that's like 30 seconds in). Coppola you horny.

  This was a bad black mirror episode (so basically like netflix era black mirror).
  Shot kinda ugly and flat, extremely surface level 'take down' of men, stereotypical characters who have no personality. It felt like a fairly good concepts first draft.

  I don't need originality in everything but this was such a middling nothingburger of a movie.

  Self indulgant as fuck but when it's this good who cares.
  -1 star for the truly atrocious QT cameo, and somehow his acting only got worse since.
