The story centers around the Younger family in Chicago in the late 1950s. Each member has a dream of a better life for themselves - Lena, the matriarch, wants to see her family move into a house they own. Both of her children want to expand beyond the realm of their normal lives: Beneatha, the daughter, wants to become a doctor and move to Africa…
SUCH a fun time. Beautiful animation, lots of laughs and who doesn’t love seeing a New York setting in a New York theater. A really powerful story of individualism and destiny-making. Highly recommend!
Had me crying. An uplifting story about a mother of three whose grit and approachability land her in a job where she ends up vindicating hundreds of people wronged by a corporate energy giant. A film which reminds of the power of collective organizing and the personal power of believing in yourself.
