  90s thrillers are wild, every psychopath is a genius capable of anything and we aren't asking questions like "why wasn't he kept sedated the entire time?"

  Brian Cox is always great fun when he turns up in these.

  I think they decant the much-sought-after bone marrow using an AeroPress at the end?

  Saw the Irish premiere of this in the IFI. At one point a character enters a building intent on doing harm, and I looked up to see the actor who plays that character coming back from the toilet, which was surreal in kind of the way the film was going for?

  I haven't watched many Fulci films, but every time the fact he was also a painter shines through. Quite gory but always presenting a striking image of horror rather than just 'hey look at this gross effect'. Obviously on the nose in places (Something lurking just beneath the surface in the Freudstein house), but truly weird and horrifying in others (the Alzabo-like children crying in the monster amalgam is terrifying)
