  Never in my life did I think I'd see Jesus do bullet time during a stoning.

  First half - slower in pace, some great surrealism.

  Second half - picks up, great fun, fuck the Romans.

  Great cameos for those who have read the original comics (Jezebel, John the Baptist, Virgin Mary).

  Hypnotic; dream-like; seductive. Would make a good pairing with Strickland's 'The Duke of Burgundy' with its themes of roleplay, and falling into/through desire. Such a beautiful colour pallet - as many have already said. Builds such a mesmerising atmosphere through such restrained but beautiful images, motifs, and repetitions.

  Smoke wafting up towards the ceiling.

  A woman, pacing away from us up an alleyway, carrying noodles in a gently swinging jar.

  A hand leaving another, the camera following the one left behind as it travels upwards, clutching the arm in pain.
