  Why was Omar Apollo’s song for the film not included? Te Maldigo (the song title) is something that can’t be helped said, but is void of valor. Because it’s honestly not true. It’s only said because of the pain & Lee is in pain because he can’t be honest with himself & others can’t be honest with him.

  i believe the beauty of Los Olvidados is Pedro’s story in this film: he wants to do right, he wants to behave right, he wants to be loved rightfully by his mother & he wants to be better. 

  You can put this subtext in anywhere. It’s universal.

  i’d like to give special attention to Buñuel’s direction & Figueroa’s cinematography. 

  you cannot discuss mexican cinema without mention of Figeuroa, Buñuel nor Los Olvidados.
