Saw this on the WB lot a little over a year ago when they were still trying to figure out what order events should take place. So glad they decided to market this as a demented sci-fi/comedy. Jokes were not corny, and were well-timed and well-written. I did not read the book, but as a standalone film it feels unique in every way, down to Ruffalo’s pearly white veneers. Will be a comfort watch for me in the years to come for sure.

Stop praising films because of the directors alone, not everything they make is worth your time or the effort to pay attention. This is a prime example. Coppola =/= brilliance.
I actually lost more brain cells watching this 2 hour shitshow than I ever did smoking weed for 10 years.
My one star goes to Shia LeBouff for owning a nonsensical role in a film that can only be described as a fever dream with too many cuts and not enough substance.
