  This film perfected the beauty of surrealism in cinema. It shows us how similiar dreams and movies are used to escape from our ordinarily mundane lives. However, too much of one thing can lead to destruction. This movie shows that balance is the most important thing in our lives, and that sometimes all we need is a little sense of escapism. Truly a fitting end to all of Satoshi Kon's work.

  I feel like there is so much to say about this film, with the conflict between families and the journey of life from different aspects, but at the same time the experience of watching it will be so different. Alot of the scenes made me feel a certain nostalgia in life i havent lived, and it really hits the spot. Then again, i've been watching too many 3 hour films consecutively that i am getting increasingly distracted with time. Edward Yang manages to show the beauty of life through the struggles we face. My first film of his, and I definitely have to complete his others
