This movie took my breath away.
Jacob Tremblay deserves every accolade given to him, and I have no doubt there is a bright future ahead for him. Truly superb acting. He left me speechless with his portrayal of Jack. Larson, as his mother, is stunning as well. They had great on screen chemistry.
The soundtrack is perfect, the camerawork was perfect, the acting was perfect. I lost track of the amount of times I cried, both in sadness and in joy.

Tom Hanks shows us just what a talented actor he is in his role as Captain Phillips. He breathes life into the character, from his words down to the subtle movements of his eyes. A true pleasure to watch.
It would have been easy to dehumanise the pirates, but it doesn't happen. Humanity is poured into what should be very unsympathetic characters. The pirate team are portrayed so well by their respective actors. It really helps stop this movie from…
