  Sorta disappointing. It’s a decent introduction to the band but anyone familiar with their full journey makes this docu feel like a sunny postcard rather than the whole picture. The documentary makes it seem like the only controversial thing that ever happened was Dennis meeting C. Manson, SMiLE being canceled in 1967 to never be followed up (Heroes and Villains wasn’t even mentioned once cmon!), and the band just not making new music altogether once Endless Summer released. Granted later…

  Akira is freaking amazing. The third act never fails to totally amaze me. It's insane to think this came out 30+ years ago. Holds up insanely well and will practically forever.

   I cannot emphasize just how beautiful the animation is on top of a beautifully complex story that can also balance sleek action. A fine contender for the best movie ever made?
