  Saw Hitchcock's Rope today and thought it was interesting, but not much more.

  Interesting use of color, a few well-executed thrills, and a beautiful choreographed dance under the illusion of a single take.

  I was interested in seeing Warrior after seeing the general reception of the film being so positive from both the art-housy crowd on Letterboxd and the general public crowd on IMDB and similar, despite it seemingly wholly predictable and standard.

  The End of Evangelion - 10/10

  Literally impossible to explain. It's like a cross between 2001 and Mulholland Drive, but with giant creatures that fight each other, and also it's all drawn.

  Let me just say that visually, this is remarkable. Completely in awe of every frame that came across the screen. Holy shit. The film is split into two halves.

  God damn. The first and third act are pretty phenomenal, its a shame the middle is...really quite bad in my opinion. The characters felt too neurotic for their own good (The Killer was fantastic though), and hopelessly scattered across in small segments that don't do much to express the films central themes.

  It is well-shot though, which is to be expected of WKW, a style which I appreciate a great deal. The first act in particular is a bad-ass noir…
