There are so many elements of this movie that had potential, unfortunately they rarely manage to stick the landing with any of it. Without having read the source material you definitely get the impression that this suffers from the same woes most adaptions of longer stories into a single film are prone to; pacing problems and characters being introduced and given significance without the screen time to back it up. Cutting in panels from the comics was a fun choice though.
