I had a lot of fun watching MaXXXine but it lacks any of the charm or wit of X and Pearl.
My favourite aspect of the first two films is the care with which the movie portrays side characters, noone felt disposable and as such each death carried weight.
In MaXXXine it's all stylish facade and everyone but Maxine herself feels one-note.
Mia Goth is still electric and she does her best with a one-note script but her performance isn't enough to make up for this flounder of a third act.Translated from by
