I'm really conflicted. I understand the message and tone of the movie, but I think it lacks intensity and is just too long. Hell, I think we all wanted to see the Joker being... the Joker. What we get to see is Arthur Fleck fighting his dark side and eventually giving it up. He doesn't want to be a hero, a martyr, he just wants to be himself.
