  This was hard to sit through. I have no problem with long films, I welcome them when the film is well made and the story needs that time to tell. This story, doesn’t need that amount of time, and unlike brutalist architecture which to me is minimalist, functional, and well structured, this film is meandering, indulgent and unfocused. The story is very average, and so are the characters, and the setting.

  Walked out half way! It’s a 90s stereotypical romcom with stereotype characters, no humor, no complexity, and frankly a little bit sexist.

  It’s difficult to not compare this to Amour. Amour is much better, rewatch that instead. The acting is good and the split screen is interesting.  A lot of the plot is expected, don’t really feel much for the characters (the chemistry between the couple/family hasn’t been set up) and goes on for too long.
