i think they relied too heavily on sex to carry the entire movie. there was no real plot line, no thought put into it. nothing about the cinematography, score, editing, etc stood out to me. i think it was disrespectful to actual sex workers, bc that’s not their reality whatsoever. there was any sort of character development.. especially after rewatching the florida project, which had a similar story about sex workers, but there was no nudity used. it didn’t make…

my favorite part of the movie is how they play with the pov; it feels like a dream, a memory. the things ur memory holds onto…. and all the symbolism throughout the whole movie, like the space race. i think it represents how america was able to view the dark side of the moon 200,000 miles away, before uncovering the dark sides of their own institutions. i also saw someone point out that it could’ve been included to show how the boys were robbed of their own careers, like STEM.
