The Strange Thing About the Johnsons 2011
The message of this film is an important one, as it highlights the family dynamics that contribute to unchecked abuse. However, there are parts of the movie where the immersion is interrupted by awful editing or questionable direction. The camerawork was one of my favorite qualities of the film, it felt very natural. I’m a little biased, but I absolutely adored this movie. It has the charm of a children’s movie that I expected, but it doesn’t feel at all juvenile.
