  Kept hearing about how good this movie is but it’s just the same disturbing misogynistic torture-a-woman male-gaze crap that’s dominated the horror genre for the last half century. The sexual assault scenes are so unnecessary.

  Not for me. Tried watching this but struggled to relate. It feels very American-centric and self-indulgent. While I don’t disagree with the content his entire shtick was extremely performative. Another privileged white man bemoaning his (actually comfortable) pandemic experience and speaking about issues that marginalised groups have been talking about for ages...like does he want a pat on the back for being woke? Also Bo Burnham seems to have made depression his entire personality. Begging you, dude, go outside and touch some grass. Actually everyone who enjoyed this needs to go outside and touch some grass.
