Well, that was a surprise! The trailer kinda suggested it was a slasher movie, which is not really my thing, but it was much more interesting and entertaining than that, a darkly comic take on AI and humanity which goes off in all sorts of unexpected directions, full of twists and turns, and with some sly nods towards Blade Runner and Terminator 2. What happens when your ‘companion’ finds out it’s a robot, that you’ve set it up for a murder, and then gets hold of your phone which controls all of its settings…
Jumanji meets Final Destination: fun, dark humour, lots of inventive deaths - plenty of splatter, but largely cartoonish - but not much to think about.
