The Sacrifice 1986
A beautiful portrayal of a man, thinking and imagining death. Nothing is evident. The last movie of Andrey Tarkovsky feels like an ode to death, since he had died the same year this movie was released. There is a sense of veiled legacy for humanity, specifically for his own son, as well as transferred portents of the cyclical nature of being.
Tarkovsky's films are a synergy of art, music, philosophy and personal experiences, mostly self reflection, alongside the combination of aesthetics, and portrayal of emotions through visual scenes in the movie.
