Nosferatu 2024
Now second only to The Witch amongst Egger’s filmography, his dedication to constructing a World is as dogged as ever. Hoult among Romanian peasants, at the crossroads, and in the Count’s castle are standout scenes, but all of the cast deserves praise. The atmosphere of a hallway left my skin crawling. It’s a joy to see a film like this perform well, especially after the Northman was in and out without much noise.

Wicked 2024
On one level, everything about this movie is perfectly fine. Acting, singing, set design. I haven’t seen the original musical so don’t know the whole story. But I didn’t care about anyone and wasn’t invested in the story so ultimately the climax had no impact on me. Why would I care about them parting when it felt like they were barely friends? For such a long film it was a dull watch and I don’t understand the craze at all. Maybe after watching part 2 I’ll like this one more. Popular was the only scene that I throughly enjoyed.
