Definitely up there with Blue Velvet as one of favorite of Lynch's filmography. Just like Blue Velvet, I enjoyed the neo-noir aspects although this film made me much more uncomfortable (not nearly as uncomfortable as Eraserhead!) Lost Highway definitely leans harder into the iconic Lynchian dream vibes and that's why I like it.

I agree with the lead actress Patrica Arquette in that this film is about a misogynist. That's something I've noticed consistently and admire about Lynch is how he is able to show the struggles of a woman under the patriarchy.

Also shout-out to Trent Reznor for complaining a banger soundtrack for this film.

The Platform is a solid dystopian horror film. It's basically Saw meets The Hunger Games.

What in the actual fuck did I watch? I mean that in the best way possible. This was a wild and fun ride. Paul Williams is wonderful as the villainous Swan and he provides a killer soundtrack to this kaleidescope nightmare version of Phantom of the Opera. This is beautifully shot cleverly written film that deserves to be seen by any music lover.

Simultaneously entertaining and disturbing. Malcolm McDowell is fantastic as Alex as he transforms from a sinister youth to a confused and docile victim of the state. Special mention goes out to Wendy Carlos' score with a haunting main theme and brilliant electronic renditions of classical pieces sprinkled throughout the film. I definitely plan on reading the novel this film is based on.
