The Shape of Water 2017
Swirling thoughts about monstrosity and humanity. It was the first time I've seen signing cinematized and it was the most beautiful thing I've seen, reminding me of Deaf West's work with Spring Awakening. The final scenes did leaps and cartwheels for me, in emotion and plot. Really wonderful that I caught Del Toro's exhibition up in Toronto just this past November and now can watch his newest film. I could see the imaginative threads that lead to it.
