Where Is the Friend's House? 1987
A lot of beauty and symbolism to take in. What a sweet and tender and heart wrenching movie. I loved Ahmed's expressive eyes and the ending made me smile. We all need a friend like him.

Super conflicted about this one. I really wanted to love it, but can't get over the whole sex work is liberation cos "we are our own means of production" thing. I cringed so hard at that scene. The premise of this movie is so interesting and could have developed into something really meaningful and rich but to me it just falls flat because of the focus on Bella's sexuality (at the expense of other more interesting facets of her development)…
