The Brutalist 2024
Just wow. I was never questioning those Oscar nommies, but now seeing it for myself I can totally see why they were nominated so much. They better sweep! Brody’s performance was phenomenal; the cinematography was beautiful, loved the shots of the Statue of Liberty & the marble mines in Italy; the score gave me chillsss. The plot was so captivating that it made it go by so fast—at times I felt hopeful, then tense, uncomfortable, then at ease again. So well done. PS more movies should have an intermission.

First movie of 2025 and first Letterboxd entry! Highly anticipated movie, but I was not as dazzled as I thought I’d be. It was slightly too long, and I just felt bad for the husband the whole time. But queen Nicole slayed and zaddy Harris had me like🤭 they were great together in this. Good start to the 2025 cinematic journey!!
