Kishkindha Kaandam 2024
A movie about a cutoff jungle town inhabited by monkeys, where a retired army officer, his son and his daughter-in-law are living peacefully. Suddenly, some mysterious happenings start taking place, like the officer's gun going missing, him acting very secretive etc. The son and his wife try to uncover these secrets and get to the bottom of it.
This one really stuck with me because it's a very unique theme; I've not seen a movie of this kind even in Hollywood. Plus, some of the dialogues are hard hitting and so well written that they stuck with me for a long time.Translated from by -

This is one of those movies that shows the brilliant quality of Malayalam cinema. The story of a respected professor who decides to take revenge against a police inspector because he feels he was falsely convicted of a crime, for which he had to suffer in jail. Starts off as a typical thief-police rat race story, but eventually, it starts to become impossible to make out who's lying because even the inspector is an honorable man who's never made a mistake in his entire career. Amazing acting by both the lead actors, and definitely a movie not to be missed.

7 Khoon Maaf is dark, eerie and chilling. It's a story about a woman in search of love, as she navigates through broken marriages with men who are ruthless, abusive, disloyal etc. I really liked the whole concept of how each of her husbands commit 1 of the 7 sins in Christianity, which is what eventually results in her murdering them. The plot does get a little dragging and predictable at times, but the movie is still worth a watch…
