  Eggers' commitment to historical accuracy and detail allows him to create these really immersive, carefully-produced films, and that's especially true for Nosferatu. However I think that dedication comes at the cost of neglecting a strong emotional core. I think a big problem with the film is that it doesn't really have a "soul", and I struggled to really connect with and empathize with the characters.   Absolute nonsense story plagued with bad editing and, at best, mediocre acting. Nothing the characters say or do makes even a little sense, information is revealed to never be brought up again, and the "plot twist" feels both predictable yet unearned and unwarranted. Save for a few genuinely decent scares and overall nice atmosphere, "Cobweb" ultimately fails as both a movie and as a horror experience.

  I would like to say that there's pieces of a good story somewhere in this movie, but the pieces are so uninspired and disjointed that I cannot give it that benefit of the doubt.
