Nosferatu 2024
Skarsgård delivers his best performance to date. Dafoe is, as always, magnificent, he was somehow a Van Helsing. Hoult and Taylor-Johnson provide solid supporting performances. Depp, however, overacts and often appears to be declaiming while gazing off into the horizon, didn't like that. . The film's photography, scenery, production design and costumes are all superb. Eggers' direction is unmistakable and has his signature all over it. Ralph Ineson, in a smaller role, makes a lasting impression. While the film could have benefited from a slightly tighter edit or a more dynamic opening, its 2 hour and 13 minute runtime never feels overly indulgent.
