Promising Young Woman 2020
I have a lot of feelings about this film.
There’s a lot of really basic dialogue in this. “Buzz phrases”. I mean like really generic things men say all the time. They can’t deny it but they’ll never actually admit to saying these things about women. Hearing these things spoken so casually is actually really jarring to hear as a female viewer. People might laugh them off, but we all know what these comments mean: PREDATOR.

Oh my, where do I start?
This was just stunning from beginning to end. Everything about it was just so incredibly well thought out and authentic.
Authentic really is the key word here.
It leaves you thinking so much about culture and how important it is to feel part of something, and that something isn’t always what you planned it to be.
