I absolutely loved this movie growing up and remember crying my ass off. I still love it--mostly out of nostalgia, though, because the acting can be bad at times and the story and pacing leave something to be desired. Still cried at the end though.
It's been 20 minutes since the movie ended, and I have not stopped crying. Truly wonderful and heartfelt.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
It looked great, but that's about it. The story went no where, and it left out anything that would have been relevent to the story of the victims/the history of Rodney's murders. Not sure what Cheryl's character was doing here. There was no reason to see her other than for Laura's character to see Rodney on the show or to be an example of an attempted murder. No one cares about Cheryl's acting dreams or wanting to ask smart questions…
I love these movies. They're just a blast, and I personally love all the callbacks/parallels.
