  A hollow and joyless exercise in forgetting Superman Returns. Man of Steel wants to look like it's being deep, but when all the characters are poorly defined and unintentionally stupid, all of this collapses on itself. Zack Snyder can create great visuals but seems to understand "story" as a series of cool things that happen. Specifically a 45 minute sleep inducing action sequence.

  It's a shame, Henry Cavill would have made a great Superman.
