    Definitely not a flawless victory.

    I saw this months ago at the theaters but forgot to log it. Well here it is. It was meh. The trailer definitely got me intrigued as to what direction they were going to take this story. And aside from a really strong opening sequence with Hanzo and his family, the movie fails to live up to that quality of emotion and choreographed action.

    I read somewhere that Ip Man 2 was better than the first one so after having a good time watching the first one my expectations were high. I can’t confirm that it’s certainly not the case.

    As expected the action scenes are great and really cool to look at. When they’re fighting on that wobbly table it made for some intense and spectacular combat, the two boxing matches are heartbreaking and satisfying as well. 

    What the film does lack though…

    In preparation for this film, I saw the original theatrical cut of Justice League. There are a myriad of problems in the 2017 release that are thankfully addressed here. The forced humor and cringe is gone, characters are fleshed out and have meaning to the narrative, and perhaps most importantly and this is BIG: Superman’s awful CGI masking of his mustache is gone. The intro sequence is completely  different and it just feels more natural.
