Jonestown meets A24 pretentiousness. And that’s not a compliment.
This is basically “it insists upon itself” the movie. Imagine if Midsommar, The Menu and Get Out had a baby. This is basically what we get. For better or for worse. While the acting, particularly from Malkovich and Edebiri, and music are great, the story gets lost in its own twists and turns. Not a bad movie by any means, but not one I’d return to if asked.

The Brutalist 2024
What can I say. I was an architectural engineering major. This just speaks volumes to me. Everything is perfect. The movie itself is crafted just as well as the buildings Laszlo put his heart and soul into. Everything from the acting to the cinematography to the screenplay to the archival footage was pristine. The people behind this movie had a vision and that vision was crafted meticulously with no loose ends. Incredible pacing as I never once felt like there was filler or useless scenes. It just spoke volumes to me. A true masterpiece.
