  In the era of CGI overuse and somewhat lazy movie making (especially in blockbusters) this feels surprisingly fresh. It's truly an epic, the sets and costume design are impressive and the amount of people in this film is something we don't see that much anymore.

  But also in the era of constant prequels, sequels and movie universes, is a sequel to Gladiator - a 24-year-old movie - truly necessary?

  (And although Denzel's precense was powerful, his Boston accent didn't imo quite fit the ancient Rome)

  Tän leffan katsominen oli kuin yhtä helppoa kuin hengittäminen. Täysin ainutlaatuinen katsomiskokemus nuorelle naiselle. Kaikki oli 100% samaistuttavaa ja löysin itseni monesta hahmosta ja juonenkäänteestä.

  Pohdin ääneen elokuvateatterista poistuessani, miltäköhän tämä elokuva olisi tuntunut, jos olisin esimerkiksi kolmekymppinen amerikkalainen mies. Ystäväni totesi minulle osuvasti: "Varmaan siltä, miltä lähes kaikki muut elokuvat meistä tuntuu."

  Maailma kaipaa lisää elokuvia, jotka on kerrottu naisnäkökulmasta.

  Alien 1979

  This genre is really not my cup of tea so it took me almost 25 years to actually watch this one. The beginning was a bit slow and I found myself frustrated about the stupidity of the characters.

  However, when Sigorney Weaver took over the movie gained my interest. She's a badass❤️.

  I can't say that the story surprised me in any way but I recognize and understand how groundbraking the movie was in 1979.
