beautiful & is the perfect length! dean blunt on the soundtrack is oddly fitting. i loved how special and intentional each frame felt + the treasure’s deep voiceover. mati diop is a phenomenal contributor to african media, i adore everything they put out. the debates were such an integral part of this film as well, which i loved. after watching this i feel more inspired to connect with my beninese roots, learn fon & folklores.
